Make something kind.
Sunward is a place to turn your memories into a birthday surprise. Please use it with care for the people in those memories.
Your photographs, your responsibility
Upload only photographs and text you have permission to use and share. Consider the birthday person and everyone pictured, especially children or anyone whose photograph or personal information may be sensitive. You remain responsible for the content you upload and for choosing an appropriate audience.
You retain your rights in the content you provide. By using Sunward, you allow the service and its infrastructure providers to store, process, display, and delete that content as needed to create and deliver your story. This does not give Sunward permission to sell your uploaded data, use it for targeted advertising, or train AI models with it.
Keep it a birthday surprise, not a harm
Do not use Sunward to harass, threaten, impersonate, expose private information, share unlawful or exploitative material, infringe someone’s rights, distribute malicious files, or bypass another person’s access controls. Do not attempt to overload the service, enumerate private links, evade rate limits, or gain unauthorized admin or management access. Access or content may be restricted or removed to address misuse, legal obligations, or operational risks.
Sharing and control
A recipient link is shareable. Anyone with an unprotected link can open and forward it; a password adds an access check but cannot prevent copying by someone already admitted. Posting it on a social story makes it available to that audience. A downloaded social card is not clickable by itself: add the birthday URL using the social app’s link sticker or attachment.
The separate management credential is your way to edit or delete a story. Keep it secure. Losing it can prevent self-service changes, and Sunward cannot recover the original secret. If that happens, contact Dinesh; support may require evidence connecting you to the story.
Stories are temporary
The expiry date shown before saving controls how long new access is available. Choose seven days, thirty days, or a custom date, including thirty days after a birthday date. Editing a story keeps its recipient URL stable. Revocation and deletion stop new access; physical deletion is a separate cleanup process. Read Retention & Deletion for timing and limits.
Keep your own copies of photographs or messages you want to retain. Sunward is not a backup service, and screenshots, downloaded cards, or copies held by recipients are outside Sunward’s control.
A thoughtful service, with practical limits
Sunward is maintained by Dinesh. Dinesh created the website; the uploader creates each birthday surprise. Stories are assembled procedurally from the chosen answers and content, so different people may receive similar passages or artwork. Sunward does not promise a unique result for every possible set of answers.
Availability, browser support, sharing features, delivery, and deletion jobs can be affected by devices, internet connections, outages, or infrastructure providers. Features may change as the service improves. No guarantee is made that a story will be continuously available or that every device will behave identically. These terms do not remove rights that applicable law gives you.
